Article is Animal Genetics, Vo1. 32, No. 6, pages 360-364.

It's from 2001, and discusses TB lineage from the use of micro-satellites.

I know it's old, but I think it was the article that put forth the 95% Eclipse sireline figure.

But, as long as I have you, what's the general thought about the prevalence of Herod in the 21st century? Or the Godolphin Arabian? Is there a difference in animals who are at the top and the masses?

In sire line, or in full pedigree? In full pedigree one study (unpublished) cited by the TB Times Racing Almanac says no horse is more influential than Herod, that the avg. modern TB is 17.2% Herod. The Godolphin is 4th on the list, at 12.7%.
