Definition Of A "Fashion Bred"

Postby Patuxet » Sun Mar 11, 2012 8:21 am

What exactly defines a "Fashion Bred"? Has Louis ever provided a definitive definition?

Thank you!

It's whatever Louis labels as a Fashion Bred. Seriously.

It is whatever Louis dubbs them, there are rules for everyone else, Louis makes them up as he goes along. An example of this is he calls Animal Kingdom a Fashion Bred because of a lone 4X4 cross to Lyphard, on the other hand he calls Big Brown a Non-Fashion Bred with 3x3 to Northern Dancer, 3X4 to Damascus and 4X5 to Round Table, claiming that the inbreeding to Damascus and Round Table offset the inbreeding to Northern Dancer, however the Non-Phalaris horses present in Animal Kingdom's pedigree do not, why? Because Louis says so.

I'm beginning to believe it depends on whether or not Louis is has an upset tummy when he reads the horses' names.

Fashion Breds have evolved from FSB to FSB1, to FSB2, to a "cluster" or "inside of the curve" group of Phalaris line Fashion Sires, so when it comes to rules there have been changes along the way.

I will post those FB stallions & mares, inside the curve of unsoundness. I posted them before a few years ago, it's time to post them again. Louis.

Thank you, Louis. Please include your definition of "curve of unsoundness" and explain exactly what constitutes a "fashion bred". There seems to be considerable confusion about precisely what you're talking about.

There's some confusion because Louis refuses to post what he's talking about. If he did define it, he wouldn't be able to weasel out of being able to change the definition every other post. It isn't confusion on our part. It is intentional confusion on his part. He has no intention of posting any real definition of what a fashion bred or non fashion bred is, because then we would be able to prove that he is blowing smoke and has been for 40 or more years. His entire reputation would go south.

Ask about the "catalyst of soundness" while you are at it, and why ALL males lines other than that of Phalaris are sources of soundness.

Also, get him to explain the way he counts FB/NFB sires in a a 5 cross pedigree.

In the Louisverse, Deputy Minister is a Non-Fashion Bred.

Keep asking him for definitions.

Here are some NFB thru their NP Inbreeding, they have more Inbreeding thru NP than Ph. That makes them a NFB.

1998 Road to Kisses 53 starts---5 X 5 Hyperion---5 X 5 Bernborough=Gainsborough---4 X 5 Princequillo=Prince Rose---5 X 5 Turn-to

1998 Lucid 52 starts---5 X 5 Nasrullah---5 X 5 Tudor Minstrel=Gainsborough---5 X 5 Hyperior=Gainsborough

2001 Slews in Demand 33 starts---5 X 5 Princequillo=Prince Rose---4 X 5 Round Table=Prince Rose---4 X 5 Bold Ruler.

Louis

The poster asked you to define Fashion Breds, not Non-Fashion Breds, so what exactly determines if a horse is a Type 1 or Type 2 Fashion Bred?
