There was just one horse in the BC Classic that carried the Raise A Native sire line and that was Fort Larned who won this years Classic over Mucho Macho Man. The Raise A Native sire line rules the Triple Crown and is doing quite well in the BC Classic in recent years as well. Zenyatta, Drosselmeyer, Curlin, Ravens Pass were all members of the Raise A Native sire line. Thats 4 BC Classic winners carrying that great line in the last 5 years. Blame, the winner in 2010 carried the Turn-To sire line. Perhaps this is a new trend and with all the Raise A Native sire line horses at stud it pays to give this lineage a second look in next years Triple Crown events and BC Classic.

Of the top ten leading sires in gross earnings in the Blood-Horse Magazine of Oct 27, 2012 we find that 5 of theme carry the Raise A Native sire line: Speightstown (2nd ranked), Empire Maker (3rd ranked), City Zip (ranked 4th), Smart Strike (ranked 6th in earnings), and Distorted Humor (8th in earnings) all carry the Raise A Native sire line. These above mentioned stallions' offspring have won anywhere from 6 to 8 million in gross earnings year to date.

Hail Raise A Native! His influence is tremendous.

We have been through this before, all of these horses mentioned come from the Mr. Prospector branch of Raise a Native. You continue to praise Raise a Native when in fact it is Mr. Prospector who should get the glory, not his sire.

DDT: Lets look at the entire history of Americas most famous race, The Kentucky Derby. Through history there have been 18 Kentucky Derby winners that carried the Raise A Native sire line: 11 of them went through Mr. Prospector and 7 of them did NOT carry Mr. Prospector in tail male: Those seven were -- Super Saver, Monarchos, Strike the Gold, Alysheba, Genuine Risk, Affirmed and Majestic Prince.

Yes, Mr. Prospector is the most dominant line in recent times but I am not willing to give no credit at all to Raise A Native whose line got us the other 7 Derby winners listed above without Mr. Prospector in tail male. Furthermore, Raise A Native was Mr. Prospector's father.

And Super Saver was the recent 2010 Derby winner who did not go thru Mr. Prospector in tail male.

I'll grant you that Mr. Prospector is the most dominant line today but that doesn't mean Raise A Native is not an important influence. Anytime you are talking up Mr. Prospector you are also making reference to his dad who supplied him with genetic strength (around 50% of Mr. Prospector's genes come from Raise A Native.

Lets not forget Raise a Natives father and his father and ahh this could go on all day.

How about giving credit to the horse who crossed the line first?
