Ontario Stallion Suggestions for my mare...

Postby crazy canuck » Tue Apr 24, 2007 11:06 am

Any suggestions out there for an Ontario based stallion for my mare steadyonthewire. I know she doesn't have much black-type in her pedigree, but she's beautiful with excellent conformation. I was going to breed her to a warmblood but we decided to go for a TB for this year instead.

Would the TB end up being a race prospect or a sport horse prospect?

A race prospect is my first choice.

Hi Crazy Canuck,

You didn't mention your intention so I'll assume that you want a race horse.

Tejabo (Deputy Minister) and Domasca Dan (Same Direction) are both Vice Regent line sires that get their share of winners. They both would give a pedigree tied top/bottom lines, 4x5 Northern Dancer / Victoria Regina and other wise be an outcross. Both stand for $1,500 CAN.

Ascot Knight ($3,000 CAN) is no longer popular but he's gotten good winners and as a son of Danzig he might leverage the same affinity with Briartic that produced Langfuhr. Highly outcrossed pedigree for this foal.

If I were going to an unproven sire I'd try Mr. Jester ($3,000 CAN) a precocious stakes winning son of Silver Deputy. Like Tejabo and Domasca Dan this is a 5x5 Norther Dancer/Victoria Regina top/bottom tie and otherwise an outcross.

Good luck,

Pete
Has a palomino jean that pop up some.
This stallion is DNA ... all foal can be MBNA inrolled.

Personally I think Gone Fishin looks awfully good. I wish I had an extra mare to send his way, oh well maybe next year.
