Anyone looking to buy stallions...

Postby Maven » Tue May 15, 2007 2:56 pm

There's a colt running at Mountaineer named Stipulate. He's an A.P. Indy out of the Gone West mare Simadartha. His 3rd, 4th and 5th dams are Coup de Folie, Raise the Standard, and Natalma, respectively. This is arguably the best stallion producing family in the world.

He's running at Mountaineer and would be a good edition to a regional program based on pedigree alone. For a comparison, a claimer son of Raise the Standard is the sire of international champion Silent Witness.

For the record, I have no connection to this horse. Just thought he'd be interesting to a few.

I have no connection to the owners... just know he's at Mountaineer. Call the park and ask for trainer info.

Maven,

I thought you meant he was running in a claiming race.

Crazy Canuck,

have you thought about claiming your prospect. I didnt spend a terrible amount of time on it, but just looking at claiming entries I saw Ghost Mountain was running in a 10K claimer. Now he might not be what your looking for but if your patient you might get lucky and find something worth checking into.

Wow, Stipulate has a whopping gsv, and I don't know when I last saw so many Reines de Course mares in a pedigree. Not doing so well in the races, though. However, I wouldn't have thought that with his pedigree, these distances would be most suitable for him.

Stipulate ran tonight for $5K and finished dead last, beaten 6 lengths by his nearest competitor. He really doesn't have much talent at all, poor guy.

But considering his recent form you probably won't have to cough up the claiming tag to make him your own.

I went down to look at him in a start last year. I think I remember him as pretty small built. I'm down at MNR often, so if he's entered back and someone wants a photo I can get one for you.

RNA'd for 235k at Keeneland in September, 2004

Half-bro by Storm Cat sold for 1.5M the next year

Nikki Sherman at one point posted a picture of Stipulate as a yearling at Keeneland, but has now taken it down.

hmmm... wonder if he is a ridgling? or a gelding? I guess I didn't realize AP Indy's ran that cheaply with such a nice pedigree.

okay, after re-reading the post. I did NOT see Stipulate.

The horse that I saw was American Brief ( http://www.pedigreequery.com/american+brief ). By Quiet American and 2nd Dam is Weekend Surprise (GSV 76.6). He'd been running for $5k at MNR last year. Not sure if he's still running or not.

Sorry for the confusion.
