What are this guy's chances?

Why would Darley stand him? Any thoughts? Any one seen him?

Someone told me he'll be sent to Europe in less than a year, but I don't see it. Darley wouldn't stand him if they weren't 100% behind him being a leading sire, would they?

His dam is half to Dynaformer, he's extremely good looking and he had a lot of speed, but was also able to stretch out past a mile. And he's free of Northern Dancer, which is a plus.

I happen to love the horse although my advisor, who I really respect, dislikes him a great deal.

I am hesitant of anything Wild Again. Not taking anything away from Wild Again who was a good stallion, he was a horse I could never figure out.

Also, from basic research, there seems to be a lot of young deaths in Wild Again horses. It might be a coincidence, but i've always attributed longevity (and it's opposite) to genetic contributions.

It was distressing to see them drop his fee from 15 to 10K before the first foal was sold, much less hit the track. We have an Offlee Wild colt from a Kissin Kris mare, A Loose Kisser. He has a good frame, excellent bone, nice manners and plenty of leg. I certainly wish Offlee Wild much success.

My personal favorite of Darley's mid to lower priced stallions is E. Dubai. I hope I have something to breed to him before his price goes too high.

I have been high on E Dubai for years and is he ever off to a good start. I really like the mare he's out of a Lord at War mare who was an excellent stakes runner who made 44 starts in her career(HELLO). And any Mr P that could run as much as E Dubai could while standing for only $15,000 looked like a bargain... and the way his horses are running indeed he is. Unfortunately, I see him at around $40,000 next season if he continues like he is... possibly $50,000. I like him better then Street Cry.



As for Offlee Wild... I'll pass for now. Though I loved Wild Rush and he is one stud that never should have left US soil. He throws awfully nice hard knocking horse as well as some top ones. I had a chance to buy a WR a couple years back after a few races. They wanted $15,000 but both his tendons had been severely damaged at some point and you just couldn't risk money on such a serious issue. I followed him closely and he has made over $250,000 since I declined. Just a very nice horse who gives you 110% every time he runs and you can't ask for more then that.

Why does your advisor dislike him so much?

I have also had a few people mention the Wild Again, and I've heard some say Wild Again never produced any good sires, kind of like he was a freak, by himself.

Maybe it skips a generation?

Wild Again was very difficult to get a bead on.I remember at one time he had 61 stakes winners from 60 different broodmare sires....hard to recognize a pattern,but I never really looked past the first generation.

TB, I dont exactly remember why he didn't like him, although im sure it was something to do with "pedigree structure". I'll have to ask him next week.

With that said, I really liked everything about him but if there are some things to be careful about. Take Dynaformer out of the equation (and possibly Brian's Time, although im not sure he would have been a big NA success), and that family produces decent, but not great stallions.

Also, Wild Again, he's just an odd horse to figure out. I've never had a handle on him and it's difficult to suggest breeding to an unproven stallion with him as the sire. Let others figure out how to get a good one before you invest your money.
