Worksoplad,

I never wrote that Manhattan, California wasn't a nice place. I simply poked fun at the name. Down, boy! LOL!

As a former NY'er, I'll always be a Knicks, Mets and Jets fans. As a Mets fan, I'd like to thank the Dodgers for giving us Mike Piazza (via the Marlins). You're welcome for Darryl Strawberry. LOL!

There's too much sushi, avocado, and tofu in your area for my liking. For lunch, give me a greasy cheeseburger over that stuff any day!

My actual town, Galena (South Reno), is on the other side of Mt Rose from the north end of Lake Tahoe. No property slump here with the Californians fleeing your state to jump the border. And, while we have no local racetrack, we have a multitude of sportsbooks that carry EVERY track (including harness) that has racing. Why not pay us a visit?

You should pay us a visit Rokeby. Manhattan Beach is a Mecca for local sports stars and the Hollywood set. No property slump here with Lakers, Kings, Dodgers players making a bee line to buy houses in MB. The delectable Maria Sharapova is also a local resident. The Manhattan Beach Volleyball Tournament and the MB Tennis Tournament are both major televised events.

What's more it's only 15 minutes from Hollywood Park and 1 1/4 hours from Del Mar.

Yep, New York's not got the only Manhattan in the US... It's a beautiful area!!!

What more can be written about Polyshit that hasn't already been written?

No breakdowns today at Belmont, Michael...the beat goes on with lots of sand and a deep base.

No, just a career-ending injury to the reigning Horse of the Year who worked on it this morning.

Shame, that surface didn't help Invasor any did it? Irony upon ironies, it was a hind end injury, which many people are attributing to synthetics now.

Let's face it, folks. They just don't make 'em like they used to.

The horse cooled out fine, the report says. You really think he's injured?

"He came back fine from the workout," McLaughlin said. "But when we went to wash his feet, he took a couple of funny steps and we noticed some swelling in his right hind leg. We had him x-rayed shortly thereafter, and that is when the fracture was detected."

Good thing this didn't happen on Polyshit!

You mean to make the deduction, from what is quoted, that the injury did not happen during the workout? That is not what Mr. McLaughlin implied. It would be stupid to conclude that the injury happened while washing the feet.

What does the word "fine" mean? There's no injury. Premium Tap, Street Sense, and Hard Spun now have the door open with Invasor out of the way. Invasor is already a Suburban Handicap winner...retiring him now simply makes it look less suspicious. You're proof that it's working.

Rokeby, I have finally had enough. I am not going to read any of your stupid posts ever again. That way my blood pressure will stay normal and I will retain my sanity. You are on permanent "ignore" as far as I am concerned from this day forward.

You're dumb enough to think that they don't want the chance to showcase Premium Tap and/or Street Sense by removing Invasor? OK.

Take a look at Discreet Cat's management. The Sheikhs care about "sportsmanship," huh?

Having to responding to you won't be a loss.

Sometimes injuries do not show up right away. A human being can get into a car wreck, walk away with whiplash only and then months later suddenly have problems in other parts of their bodies.

Invasor had a previous injury to that leg. Horses can also hurt themselves goofing off...and seriously too. All it takes is a misstep, a bobble. The contortion that Afleet Alex did in the 2005 Preakness most likely contributed to the injury that quickened his retirement.

We can speculate all we want...right now tracks are experimenting with different surfaces. Who knows, maybe they will revert back to the old stuff. Back in the 70s a Florida track had a rubberized track (like Astro Turf). There are so many variables that contribute to a horse breaking down...you have to look at all of them.

Why would they want to showcase Premium Tap? They didn't buy him.
