Arabians in ASB's

Postby [email protected] » Fri Jul 06, 2007 7:08 am

1...My library only starts with Vol VII...am wondering what years the Arabians first appeared in the ASB's?

2...Am looking for an import...

OMAR (white Arabian, however he probably was gray, turned white). He was presented to Wm H. Seward, Secretary of State (1861 - 1865) on a trip to Africa sometime during the afore mentioned time line. Seward was SEC during President Abraham Lincolns Presidency.

I just love history...hated it when I was a kid, but if it has to do with horses...its so interesting!

The ASB included Arabians from the very beginning, right up through 1943, when the studbook was closed to them.

No luck on Omar, I'm afraid - it's possible he appears in Volume 1, I don't have that one handy.
