Jingles for my beautiful yearling
My first foal,my first love,my beautiful sweet yerling....my Castine's Beauty....she cut her leg from the knee down yesterday....cut an arterty....almost lost her due to bleeding out before local vet got here...managed to stop the bleeding.....managed to get her into the trailer....drove over 4 hours in a driving rain....got her to a vet hospital....she's still with us..... my beauty got up this AM and walked around and was eating....vet called, had to sedate her and is flushing out the wound to prevent infection......please say a prayer for my beautiful beauty....
I just don't know what to do.....
Prayers and get well wishes going out to you and your filly! I had one of my great danes slice one of his arteries and we thought we lost him too, but after a couple scary days he was fine and 2 years later he's still bouncing around more than the others!!
trying to come up with something brillant..... this may take a while.

wishes for you
I hope she is ok I know how you are feeling --our yearling cut her hind leg tore the meat right off couldnt stitch, nothing to stitch too..we bandaged and bandaged 4 months now and it is over she leaves for the trainer November 3rd......the only thing there is a line scar and the leg is slightly a little bigger only I notice....the days of caring for her have made her a tremendous horse with a future, God has his reasons, when she is over the hump and on the road to recovery enjoy the time helping her through her ordeal, the horse that overcomes these odds truley is a horse that will touch your heart forever. And you think she is the love of your life now ?just wait when I walk in the barn my baby whinnies until I pay her attention, she licks me as if she thinks I am hers....any other horse gets my attention and she absolutey throws a fit.....I hope this info encourages you even those days when it seems helpless-- keep strong and talk with people on this board they always seem to help ...they did me.

Hi all.....thanks soooooo much for your words of incougament and even more wonderful stories of incougament
She came back home Monday 10/29...needless to say I've been one busy worried mother hen. Her? She made the trip like a champ
The whole barn is spoiling her to pieces, everybody in the barn was there when she came off the trailier
She lost some weight but, the first night she made up for it
That and all the treats she's getting night and day have brought her back around.
We have 3 months of wrapping to go, NO INFECTIONS
YES YES YES
She's been going for a walk each day walking fine don't think there will much of a scar or will have any pernament damage. I sware by the Rahliegh, N C Clinic, they gave hourly reports the first 2 days she was there, it was like I was with her the whole time
Yep, good Throughbreed blood and heart in her both Mon and Dad were racers
Dad was the best but Mom wasn't too shabby either
This was her first foal, too
This is the second time this yearling was saved, she had a rough delivery and had to be pulled out, Mom was too weak to push any more. She's our Angel, very very sweet and yes, SPOILED
Again, thank you all
