Toussaud has been pensioned. horse racing looses one of the most productive broodmares in the last 50 years to a well deserved retirement.

He's hope her fillies and stallions can fufill the legacy that is toussaud

Talking about a head case. They say she is very contrary and that's putting it mildly. I've never heard if she passed her goofiness along to her progeny. Sometimes she wouldn't go into her stall no matter what kind of coaxing you did until she wanted to. I believe I read about her quirks in the Blood Horse a couple of years ago.

Also, I believe she was extremely problematic and tricky to manage as a broodmare. She sure could throw a heck of a foal, though.

Happened to see Roman Emperor, by Empire Maker, win an allowance race at the PHA yesterday. RE: Toussaud's contrary nature, this boy was rather opinionated in the paddock, so much so that they didn't even get him saddled till a minute to post.
He won going away. Bred to run for miles, keep an eye out for this one. Despite his ornery nature he's a big, good looking horse and just gobbled ground.

How old is Toussaud? Good for her to have earned her retirement. Nothing left to prove!

She's almost 19, not ancient. But doesn't she have some chronic health problems?

I'v got a couple of yearlings out of her Gone West son Civilisation.. The geldings are dog gentle and you can go to them in the pastiture and they will let you pick up all four feet. Also, Civilisation is the best mannered stallion at the stallion shed.
