What's up with Kingmambo?

Postby freshman » Tue Mar 18, 2008 5:05 pm

Just saw that he missed a few days due to a neuro problem. Anyone know what it was? I remember that he has had physical issues before, maybe missed all or most of a season? I thought it was a back problem.

he missed more than just a couple days recently. From what I know the problem isn't life threatening, more to do with breeding. I can't really get into it more than that. I'm sure if the problem continues once he gets back in action there will probably be another announcement, you'll just have to wait until then...sorry.

It's a neurological issue with his neck. They cleared him last week but he spiked a small fever and was acting colicy earlier in the week and they brought out a team of vets. Nothing serious of related to his neurological spine problem, just under the weather.

Last I heard, he was doing ok this weekend.

I wouldn't tell anyone through a PM either, somebody asked if the horse was ok or what was going on. I have nothing to do with the horse so I'm not going to tell people who I don't know, whats going on with him. But I will let them know that the horse will be ok and it's not serious, if they ask.

all im saying is .......how shall i say it with you taking offense........it sounds like an inuendo.......i would have PM'D about the subject instead of posting...and then not elaborating....but i understand your point. this is a PUBLIC forum is it not......all right i will shut up and go away.

Sorry, didn't know the rules of how and what to post. Maybe somebody else was wondering the same thing, but didn't post, how would I PM them too. He is a big name horse that has had a tough time in the past year or two. I don't see how what I posted would be any different than somebody who knew (hypothetically) that there was a small issue with War Pass, but wasn't allowed to say what it was.

whatever...I'll post as much info as I can and if people want to know good...if not don't read it.

If you think that your comments would deter someone on this forum from breeding to Kingmambo, then you haven't been here that long. There are not 3 people on this forum that can afford or have a mare that would go to Kingmambo!!! Now if it was a $1000 stud it might be different but not the King!!! :D Whatever is wrong with him doesn't affect 99.9% of us. So tell it like it is!!

I don't care if the horse stands for $500,000 or if he's free, if I don't own him, I'm not putting its problem on a public forum. I knew Songster was shooting blanks well before the announcement, but I didn't come out and tell everyone. If someone asks a question about a horse I might know about, I will be as specific as I can, without overstepping confidentiality. There is another horse that I could put something up about that is very newsworthy. But the farm that represents him has not made it public yet so neither will I.

Respectfully submitted then it should never have been brought up!

I feel like I'm in grade 2 here. Look...the question seemed like the person was wondering about the horses well being, I responded by telling them he is ok but has more than one thing to deal with currently, and it is not life threatening. Everyone else who is pissed off because I will not elaborate any further, grow up. I answered the persons question as best as I could.

Maybe everyone who is pissed off that I answered the persons question shouldn't have posted either...because that has absolutely nothing to do with the horse.
