Prettiest Mare?

Postby aztmccdc » Mon Mar 31, 2008 9:08 pm

In your personal opinion. Who do you think was or is the prettiest TB mare?
I know some people would beg to differ but I think Almahmoud was gorgeous. Her head, color, and the way she holds herself in her picture really caught my eye. She could be butt ugly from a different angle though. Anybody know of any other pictures of her?

I'm not fond of her to be very honest ...

I hate her back end and I dont like her top line at all ... :(

In my ever so humble opinion, I have to nominate my 2004 mare - Faux Finish - as the prettiest TB mare I have ever seen ...

She's a huge improvement on her dam (who is also gorgeous!) and to me, is the epitome of what a TB mare should look like ... :) ... here shown as a just turned 2 year old:

and here in the fall of her 2 year old year:

and here as a 3 year old:

And I also love my Shastan mare - she is big and gorgeous and beautifully put together as well - all reasons she was selected to be a broodmare for me ... :)

True Colours has two absolutely beautiful mares. Faux Finish appears to be a really tall mare, gorgeous color too.
One of my favorite mares based on appearance is Lea Lark. She appears to be so dainty and pretty, in her picture on the board.

I think Fran's Valentine was a beautiful mare . . . . . . .very elegant looking.

I have always thougth that Ouija Board was a stunning mare.

On a personal and totally biased level, my own mare Whooo's So Special is quite pretty

Most mares out of "Maudlin" are striking. They are so pretty and girly, arab type heads and sooooo solid :) I am sure there are unfortunate looking Maudlin girls as well but I havent seen one yet. :)
Always bet on the grey!!

She wasn't the prettiest conformationally, but she had the prettiest head and face I've ever seen on a thoroughbred mare. My mare Sheza Spy (Spy Signal x Decorum):

Ascot Knight's fillies were almost always gorgeous IMO. Beautiful classy heads and thick manes and forelocks.

Galileo1998,

Your mare is very striking! Is she a Thoroughbred?

I thought My Typhoon was pretty. And Miss Disco.

Thank you :) Yes, she's a full T'bred, registered as Whooo's So Special, by Cavanagh Special out of a Sir Wimborne mare.

Vindicated - I missed your question from back in April. Yes, she was an A show hunter and has since been making babies for me. She has a 2006 filly by Freedom Z, a 2007 colt by Pablo, and is due for a preg check on Saturday to see if she's in foal to Sir Caletto.
