Middleburg Annual Yearling sale

The Middleburg VA annual yearling sale averaged $1,402 for 17 long TB yearlings..

I think I'm going to donate my in-foal mares to the Middleburg Agricultural Research and Extension Center, get a tax write off and buy their long yearlings in a couple of years.

My Middleburg trainer said the Middleburg Mare Center no longer accepts mare donations.

If they culled their mares and allowed better quality mares to be donated thay might avearge better than $1402 per long yearling. However, I don't think I have much of a chance of turning that around

Actually, I think I heard this may be the last sale, or next to the last. I don't think they bred any mares this year.

This io part of the VA Tech and was set up by the late Paul Mellon of Mellon Bank..
