Looking for true black TB filly or mare ...

Postby TrueColours » Wed Aug 13, 2008 6:05 am

I am also looking for a true black (NOT dark bay!) TB filly or mare. 4 tall stockings, white face, at 16hh+ now or will mature to that area.

And of course correct conformation, and movement and enough attributes that they deserve to be bred!

I am really loving the smoky black filly that we produced this year from my Puchi Trap mare and I'd love to see if we could produce more of them in the years to come with as much chrome on them as possible

Please let me know if you know of anything out there either on this thread or: [email protected]

Thanks, as always! :)

Too bad you aren't looking for a flashy Bay yearling with 4 socks and a star and snip :) ha ha. I finally named her "Rock My Socks"

Donna, I have a true black 16.1h tb mare, but she doesn't have all the white you want.

Thanks Katie and Karie - but I am going to be very very picky on this purchase and she has to be EXACTLY what I am looking for, including the stockings up to the knees and hocks, the gorgeous head, the beautiful conformation and movement - the whole enchilada! ;)

I am really hoping that I luck out and get a weanling out of a sale and then I can just sit on her for a few years

Thats what I am hoping for anyhow - and hopefully it will come to pass ...

So anyone see anything out there that would suit - please do let me know

Thanks as always! :)

True Colours, I think this girl may be just what your looking for as long as she's in your price range and not too far away ;)

Thanks mehile! :)

But ... other than the colour and markings and size being dead on for what I am looking for, I honestly cannot afford or justify spending $20,000.00 on a broodmare and I really dont like this mare at all from the girth forward in the other 2 pictures posted. And I am not fond of her head or her eye at all

Back to searching ... ;)

black mare

Postby scubaotterfrog » Thu Aug 21, 2008 2:08 pm

The mare I owned and bred for 14 years is 16.1 1/2. Gorgeous head, thinner white blaze, true black, she has 3 ankle white socks with black spots around coronet. She was a strip confirmation horse when a baby and a pre green hunter champion when in California. She has two foals by the hanoverian hunter stallion Sir Caletto(grey) that are proven in the hunter ring. She also has a foal by a TB stallion (Sefapiano) that is also a proven adult hunter winner. Her 2yo by SC is true black like her with tons of white and just sold to a top hunter trainer. Her filly by SC is grey with white markings like the stallion. She is a reproductive dream. Her registered name is Rodozoom 1992. I am asking $3000 OBO. I will send photos if you are interested. Her socks may not be high enough for you. Thank you!

Donna, Did you ever find what you were looking for?
if not...
I hear my friend just brought home his black 3yo filly with a white stripe and 3 socks.. I will try to get over there in the next week and see what she looks like... I think they were around 2k for her. I will get her pedigree also.. I asked today and he couldn't remember her name... ha
