Sherry's Reddy finished 3rd at a 5F Maiden Allowence at Hollywood Park after two 2F races. It looked like with a little more room to run he would have won easily, and gosh is he pretty, like his dad.

A group one winner for Redattore. From the Harrisfarms website:

Redattore Has Group I Winner

GAVEA, Brazil (July 2, 2008) -- California freshman stallion Redattore was represented by his first Group I winner Sunday when Brazilian-bred Estrela de Oriente won the $65,100 Group I de Criadores e Proprietarios do Cavalo de Corrida for 2-year-olds.

The winner ran the mile on soft turf in 1:35.72.

Compari broke a little awkward, then zoomed up and held second throughout the race, rallied well, and came home a close third.

Running 2/28/09:
Fool Me Once, GG, race 2, MCL
Connie D, SA, race 10, MCL

I've got all the NA Redattore's in my fantasy stable to get a handle on what type sire he might be. I've done that for all the new CA sires the last couple of years. It's helpful to see where they are running, up north or in the southland, msw or mcl, just adds to the stats.
Good luck Archdandy, I hope Redattore is very successful. I'd still like to see him do a little more than he has, however, outside of South America. I athought physically he was stunning.

Compari raced on the turf going a mile today at Santa Anita, a race which I think better suited the horse to begin with. He repayed my thoughts by leading the race and drawing away to win by about 3 1/2.

He looked really good winning, Arch. Won't be surprised if he wins a nw1 next out.

So is he proving to be a claiming sire? It seems the vast majority are running in mcl.

I have a 2yo Redattore filly (just been broke) out of a multiple winning mare at Del Mar, but a claiming mare. I had high hopes he would improve her, but it's looking very bad so far. I talked to the Harris Farms people. They are mystified, as his get have been running very well in the Southern Hemisphere, and they had big expectations. They are not sure if it is the surfaces or what. It's probably easier to win a Group 1 down there, but still, he ought to have a few more allowance horses here if they are winning Group 1's down there.

I wonder if he will shuttle down south and stay there next year.

Redattore's Compari will run in this saturday's Snow Cheif stakes at Hollywood Park. This is only his third start, I was hoping they would go again for similar conditions (a mile on the turf). How much opportunity have his offspring had to run on the turf?

My dad asked me for my opinion on his chances and for fun I thought I'd post my thoughts here:

Compari raced first on the synthetic at santa anita, going 6F. he came home third gamely down the stretch so I would think further would suit. He obviously didnt hate the turf in his second start in the maiden special weight at santa anita going a mile-further suited him after all. This stakes race is a 1 1/8 if Im correct and is on Hollywood's synthetic( somewhat comparable to santa anita's proride) Im sure the extra eighth wont hurt him since going further before yielded positive results, and he will also be going for the lead again (will he have the same jock??) according to DRF. Can he hold the lead? he ran away with it last time- this is up for speculation. I believe he will be "somewhere" in this race. Maybe I should put two dollars on it :)
