She DOES look like a big strong baby and very straight, too, as you said. That's great! Congrats!

Thankyou everyone. Cant keep out of the barn. She is truley Loved and Mamma is doing very well. We have seen many foals so far but this one gives me chills, she is different. Maybe its all the loss and struggle, I don't know but to me she just seems different. I guess time will tell.... she is very compariable to that beautiful colt we once had that is doing fabulous on the track.....so I will cross my fingeres and pray. Good luck to everyone may you be blessed.

Okay Toccet - I laughed my you know what off on that one!!!! Good one!

Don't worry Tammy - we all make mistakes - the bottom line is you have a health foal - winky or not ;)

I made the same mistake this year, everyone got a good laugh out of it. I usually do a double check with the navel dip and then when I give the enema. I didn't do the enema on this foal so that was my excuse.

Better to make a harmless mistake like that then a serious one.

I think that you should name him Sum Surprise :D

He is still beautiful. If you have had a lot of foals, you know it is easy to make an initial mistake, unless you really have hands on the foal, which some mares do not appreciate in the first day or so. I remember well thinking that I had a filly foal from looking from a distance, what I actually saw was a bit of sh**.
