i actually agree with westover. it's extremely (extremely) unfortanate.. but horses clip heels every other race. I've seen much much worse race riding not result in falls and spills, some of it even intenial

I am sure most of you know this but there is a fund set up through the "Permanently Disabled Jockeys Fund" specifically for Rene Douglas & his family.

You can go on Facebook and all the info. is under Rene Douglas' get well card.

Great news from the facebook page that Rene Douglas is out of ICU now. There is also a very nice video tribute on there. I sincerely hope that he can continue to improve.
