Punz & Jinx have arrived!

Postby TrueColours » Sat Jun 20, 2009 4:05 pm

I am so thrilled to have these 2 very special mares in for breeding ... :)

Both are by Puchilingui. Jinx is out of the Frozen Sails mare and here is a baby picture of her:

and Punz is out of the Stellar Splash mare by Bucksplasher and here is a baby picture of her:

After these 2 mares are confirmed in foal, I will be getting 3 more Puchi mares in for breeding, so wish us luck that Mother Nature co-operates and we get all 5 mares confirmed in foal as quickly as possible!

:)

I have adored both of these mares from the day I saw their pictures in a Paint Horse Journal article many years ago. They are all maiden mares as well and I am really honored that Jerry Tyler has chosen Guaranteed Gold to have their first babies as well ... :)

Congratulations. Yes I have that article about the young man from Georgia I guess who developed those strains. Apropos, Have you ever considered crossing Punz with another white strain such as The White Fox, Directs Unique One (where is he?), or one of Mont Blanc's white descendants?

Jorge,

I understand they are dominant whites and not sabino and dominant whites would be lethal in their homozygous form so I guess it is not good to try to breed them together.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Jorge - the "young man from Georgia" is rather a sore point with Jerry Tyler ... if we ever get to talk, you and I - I'll fill you in on the whole horrible story where he is concerned ...

And these mares belong to Jerry and he loves the palomino's and wants a couple out in his fields out of these very special Puchi mares. I dont think he has any interest whatsoever in producing any white TB's with any white sires at all, so thats why he selected GG to breed to them all

I get the foals out of the 2 bay mares (Jinx and Babe) and he gets the 3 out of the 3 chestnut base coat mares so he gets the palomino's that he wants! :) And I hopefully get the buckskin's that I want! :)

The title of the article about the breeder from Georgia, whose name is King Hackey, is "Royalty With A Twist". It was published in the August 1996 issue of the "Paint Horse Journal" (pages 34-41).

I know all about the Paint Horse Journal article Jorge - its the story BEHIND the scene's that VERY few people know about and it is not a flattering story on Mr Hackley at all ...

Well - according to their owner (Jerry Tyler) it looks like both mares are in foal, so crossing my fingers for 2 gorgeous palomino & buckskin babies in 2010 ... :)

I know it means a lot to Jerry to get foals out of both of these mares so here's hoping that his dreams become realities with both of these girls ... :)

I know. I'm bad ... :(

I didnt get any updated pictures of them while they were here ...

Hopefully next year when we get them back and some more of the Puchi mares in to breed we can get a group photo done of them!

Not to worry, folks... I have pictures of them from last fall when Jerry was talking to me about sending them to Donna and which ones to send. I'll post them later today if anyone would like to see them :)

Donna, I'm here to save the day!!! :) These photos of Punz and Jinx were taken with a disposable camera (since I forgot mine) so the quality isn't what I am used to having, but you get an idea of what they looked like in June, 2008 with Jerry Tyler. I have some pictures of some of the other mares tat Donna is talking about, but per Jerry's request, I have to keep them for my own viewing... sorry!!! :?
Here are a few of Jinx:
