Pleasantly Perfect

Just wanted to get opinions on this guy. I went to Lanes End last weekend and while I didn't get to see all stallions out, this boy was one of my favs. I realize he just has one crop of racing age but they seem to be doing well plus he has earnings of $7.7 million and won the Breeders Cup Classic as a 5 yr old. Just curious on other's thoughts.

I really like him and I have posted on him in the past. He is one of my possible contenders for upcoming greatness. I have a developed a private system which scores him very high. I would definitely recommend breeding to him... Good luck with your matings.

He actually has 2 crops of racing age. His oldest offspring are finishing their 3 year old year.

Slow start I think, although the Pleasant Colony line tends to be slow off the mark getting more stamina types. Still the 1.45 AEI vs 2.41 CI and only 3 stakes winners (1 graded) is not much to get excited about.

I think he has a lot of potential. Yes the current AEI/CI ratio isn't much to write home about, but he himself was a late bloomer and I did not expect him to figure anywhere in the second crop sire list. However he has retained his position in the top twenty of his peers and I would expect only improvement.

I think his progeny will be very similar to him. I have seen many of his foals and he seem to stamp them quite well. 3 and up, and if you breed to race you should be rewarded. A younger version of Pleasant Tap.
