That was awesome! We made a trip back to the house from foal watch to catch it- totally worth it! Soon as he took the lead, I was jumping up and down shouting "its over now!" Here is a segment from a bloodhorse article on Compari's next possible targets.

"Jones said he is considering the Woodford Reserve (gr. IT) at 1 1/8 miles on turf at Churchill Downs May 1 and the Shoemaker Mile (gr. IT) at Hollywood Park May 31 as possibilities for Compari's next race."

I forget the distance of the Snow Chief... could have been 1 1/8. But I agree he should stay for the shoemaker.

He was nowhere in this one. Read that he was scratched from his last engagement due to foot problems. The Redattore's in my opinion are less tolerant of shoes than other TB's.

this had nothign to do with the feet and everything to do with the piss poor decision making of the jockey.

i'd toss this race out, not int he least bit any indication of his ability level. that was one of the worst rides i've seen in a while and i watch ALOT of racing

Scratched. There is something up with these horses- they can barely make a few starts a year.

he was scratched because

1.the horse wants no part whatsoever of a 10F
2. ms. Gaines is very conservative.

heck i think 8F might be too far for red sun. he is damn near unbeatable at 6F on turf I think.
