Hi Guys,

Why hasn't Theatrical set the world on fire as a sire of sires? He produces such good runners.

I have no answer, but IMO it's not unlike the situation with Theatrical's sire. Nureyev sired top-notch horses like Zilzal, Spinning World, Soviet Star and Pientre Celebre but, like the Gr.I sons of Theatrical, only occasionally have they been able to replicate themselves.

I'm taking a chance on Shakespeare and sending my best stakes mare to him in the hope that the doubling up of La Troienne on his bottom line and an inbreeding to Northern Dancer through Nureyev and Danzig will do the trick.

You can add a long list of stallions without world class (meaning way above average with stats close to their own) replacements.....Dyanformer, Rahy, Broad Brush, Cozzene, etc...... :(

So, in other words, Theatrical, joins a very, very high quality group of sires.

But, most lines are passed on via only one son (who may or may not be the best racehorse (but Mr. P and ND were exceptions).
