Trainers in ID....anyone know of any?

Postby oleos93 » Wed Jun 22, 2011 1:21 pm

GREAT news for ID this year. Been talking to the commission and main office and they are still pretty slammed with getting it all together but the meet does start JULY 2 and they DO HAVE a condition book set up and on line today!!

I may try for my license but we are 10 hrs away so not sure but in case I don't is there anyone on here that does and WILL be training in ID and does QH's AND TB's?

If so please PM me your contact and any information you think will help.....day rates etc.

And of anyone knows someone not on here training in ID please pass them on!!

Thanks!!

Wait Im confused.
1. You live in Id. and they meet is in Boise?
I live four hours away and I'm in Nv. How can you be 10 hours away living inside the state?
2. You WANT to run your horse in a 2300 to 3000 purse race, and make money?
3. I spoke to them too and they said it was " still up in the air if they are going to run on the 2nd and beyond Aug. 13th".

We were thinking of sending 1 over to run and a friend had a QH but we decided to go with time off instead.

karen--with a horse trailer, it easily could take more than 10hrs to go from St. Maries to Boise. I have done it and it was not a fun trip. Going back to Montana was even worse but that was the horses fault.

Karen we live way up by CDA so yes a normal drive is 9 hrs and with a trailer easy 10 or so.

I am only looking to run the QH's there, My TB's are going to stay in CA. My horses are already race fit I just need someone to enter them for me and get their works done. Of course they will get their win percentage and stuff. So the low purses do not scare me if I am not paying a day rate for months on end.......this is more to get the less experienced, experience.

I talked to the racing secretary and racing commissions office today and both said it is a go. All phones will be up tomorrow and trainers will be moving in next week.

The racing secretary is going to get a trainers list done up soon but in the mean time was hoping to get on talking to some.

Thanks for the names Shergar!!

I know Casey Doyle moved to Idaho but don't know if he is training in the state currently.

I went there today and the place is still a mess but they are cleaning up. Never being there before, I tried to get to the back side but was blocked by construction gates.....I was able to see only one horse and one trailer. There where a few people doing clean up and what looked to be repairs on some of the housing that sits there.

So needless to say I was not able to talk to anyone. Did not seem to be any trainers there per say, just clean up/repair crew.

I went in near the office and grand stand so not sure if that is the right gate. I did not see any other way in nor did I know how to get around back any other way. The fencing that was up where the panel chain link and just looked like they where keeping folks out so they could clean up.

Guess I missed it.

Still waiting on the list from the racing secretary. Do you happen to have any numbers with the names you listed before?
