phew I sure laughed hard after all those griff posts and the comments that ensued

I have noticed that there aren't very many posts these days.

Horses evoke very strong opinions from people and I've always enjoyed reading peoples thoughts, there are times though that people get a bit too carried away and that is unfortunate as it is a turn-off. At the same token when the powers that be have to put such tough restrictions on what is said.....well that is a turn-off also IMO.

There are some very intelligent and well spoken people on this board that make it an educating read, as well as those that are blessed with a good sense of humor - see page 4 (I believe) as an example.

WOW!!!

now I think I understand how it must feel to be an omega wolf. Louis, I suggest you enjoy the repose while you can.

as to xfactor fan's question; no I did not post all those pages intentionally but understand it was my bad.

And Bast's "Feeling a little defensive, Griff?" is probably right on target for Crystal's question as to why I posted off topic, as posting the definitions of teabagger was in response to a Bast rant that included something to the affect that I had called her a dirty name.

And, since I called members of the Tea Party "teabaggers", in another trend, and, if Bast is a member of the Tea Party, I am indeed guilty of calling her a teabagger.. However, in my defense, I do declare that I am not up on the lastest off color jaron and was not familiar with the # 2 Urban Dictionary definition of teabagger.

I am, however, very familiar with the # 4 definition below:

"A person who is unaware that they have said or done something foolish, childlike, noobish, lame or inconvenient." [And I was not referring to #3 either.]

And I ask you to remember Congressman Boehner standing in front of that TV camera stating that the budget must be balanced with cuts to social security and medicare and not one single tax loophole would be addressed as that would raise the taxes on someone.. I also remember something to the affect that the tax loophole for corporate jets must be preserved to protect the ability of small businessmen to own and operate corporate jets..

Boehner has definitely been in DC far too long if he believes small businessmen have a need for corporate jets..

So, I ask you, does not the above and other Tea Party/Teabag Party statements & agenda not meet the criteria in the 4th definition of teabagger, as quoted above??

And by the way, Boehner's statement will be aired every half hour nation wide next Oct/Nov and will a very major contributor of four more years of HBO, but this time with a 2/3 majority in both the House and Senate..

Our only hope for averting this pending doom is for the economy and unemployment to get worse.. And that is an awful thought, but ell within the ability of fearless leader.

Not so, Griff. I sent you a PM informing you of the crude meaning. You went ahead and applied it to tea party people, and by extension, to me.

You don't seem to understand what the tea party is about.

There is always mail order. I enjoy going to the Asian market, not only for the tea, but for the cute Japanese cat stuff. They love their nekos.

Oolong is somewhere between black tea, hong cha, which is fermented, and green tea, which is simply dried. The amazing thing is that it all is made from the same plant. Oolong kwan lin is a specific oolong. It is wonderful.

Leave it to me to cause trouble...

ANYWAY, tea baggers or not all are welcome to post suggestions on how we can help promote this board and get more people involved as well as get the convos going again.

I agree the board kind of fell quiet before the summer. We have SOOO many awesome people from all over the world who do actively post here. We need to get more farms, equestrian centers, and people from all over the industry to come here to help promote TB racing, breeding and ownership.

I mean come on this is FREE advertising space for trainers, stallions, horses for sale/placement, handicappers, etc.

An email sent out to 87,000+ people reminding them of the pedigree query would be a great way to start and weed out the list.

If everyone who has owned or does own a TB could update the info on their horse(s) we could have a huge impact on the quality of information in the database. BRISNET lets you do a FREE race record check on their website and you can get report live foals/registered offspring of anymare with their free 5x pedigree. We could also delete a bunch of the duplicate horses and non existant horses as well. Not to mention fix broken photo links!

Let's clean house!!

that's a good point

i am pretty sure, or at least think the guy that started this site isn't around aymore. I don't know what happened rouge, i haven't seen a post from rouge in years.

i wonder if this site has an autoresonder feature built into the backend that can do the email blast you are talking about. that's easily doable.

but just, the bickering. and to be frank, i don't like political forums. i know i post in there from time to time, but it kinda makes you look at the people you post with on a day to day basis in a different light. then things from there, get dragged onto other parts of the forum

the off the wall/everyday life forum is pretty clean though and were much needed

Let's see if I have this straight.

Bast somehow guessed or knew I was going to call members of the Tea Party "tea baggers" and sent me a private email advising me of the most vulgar definition of tea baggers before I actually did the the dastardly act??????

Or did I misread her latest rant.??

You used the term, and I PRIVATELY told you that it was not a polite usage.

You came back and used it again.

You found an odd definition that suited your purposes, and used it anyway. I don't make a habit of intentionally using terms that people find offensive, but maybe this is how you entertain yourself.

Are these 87,000 registrations legitimate, or do they include lots of bot registrations?

I was surprised at the way postings dropped off after the Belmont Stakes. There appears to have been next to no interest in racing this past summer, based on the races discussed.

I make a point of updating horses if I look up their record at Equibase.

TeaBagger may also be a bit of military slang for something rude done to drunks with a camera and a pair of testicles. Not those belonging to the drunk.

Much ruder than the official definitions.

I've also been wondering why this board has been so quiet recently. As a long time reader, occasional poster, I've always found the board to be filled with knowledgable people who are happy to answer questions for newbies and always up for a good debate. As in any group, there have been the crazies and the flame wars, but really it seems that there are less of those on this board than on other thoroughbred boards I've read (I'm still afraid to post on the thoroughbredchampions site, given that every thread ends in an all-out insult fest!).

Hopefully the site is just going through a quiet phase, and not dying out all together. There are also probably a significant number of people like me, who mainly lurk and only occasionally post, but still read the forums regularly.

I was treasure hunting at the Peddlar's Mall recently (indoor flea market) and swooped on a box of Wu-Yi Oolong.. what a find!! 100 tea bags for a buck.

No, I'm assuming there are thousands of bots, dead emails, people who signed up but have never posted, etc. Point being at one time 87,000+ people found this site and signed up for it. Selling canadian viagra or asking a question about a horse... there must be a few legit people that need to be reminded about this site.
