Seems much less activity on this forum?

Postby tbrace » Sat Feb 25, 2012 9:30 am

Haven't been here for a while, but checking the last few weeks, it seems there is much less activity on this forum than a few years ago.

Is that observation correct? If so, I wonder why?

I know I haven't been on for awhile because we are babysitting our grandaughters during the week. Not on very much.

I noticed that too. There used to be a lot of activity. Where have all the posters gone?

I suspect there are other blogs (esp racing focused) , Facebook and the like that consume the few moments that many have. PQ is a great resource though for this very specialized area. thanks to everybody who's part of this board.

PS - the controversial topics still seem to get some action

True, funny post, but I still wonder why so little activity.

Are horsemen and women fewer these days, who are interested in the TB?

A few very knowledgeable people also had fiery tempers and were banned or asked to leave. Plus others watching the fire fights probably got disgusted and left.

Louis quit posting his series, and with that went all the resulting chatter of how right or how wrong he was. And presumably any folks that logged on to read his take on genetics.

How do you figure that Louis quit posting his series? It is still alive and well, on page 748, if i recall correctly.

A couple of posters actually passed away.

As for the bannings, there is a fine line between being passionate and not playing well with others.

Speaking just for myself, I got a little tired of the net nannies reminding posters of unwanted horses when they posted about their prospective stallions and broodmares or worse yet being critical of members selling breeding or racing horses. A little of that goes a long way.

i think the very lively arguments about seized horses and other bickerings contributed a lot to it. Many of the main chatters are no longer around. I have contributed less and don't watch as often myself.
