Postby bdw0617 » Sat Dec 22, 2012 10:05 am

i just heard about this on HRTV race day america. I want a 3% takeout :(

you have to do something and it has something to do with the TBOA. Can someone explain?

Hi bdw,
The takeout will effectively be 3.68% for winning pick six wagers made on track at Santa Anita. Yet the actual takeout remains the same everywhere at 23.68%. It's actually a 20% bonus given to winners of the pick six at the track. In other words, if the actual pick six payoff is $10,000 (after the 23.68% takeout)...if you bought that winning ticket at Santa Anita, you recieve an additional 20% bonus (from the track) of $2,000 making a winning pick six payoff on track worth $12,000. Hi bdw,
Yes, your right about the card...you have to be an account holder at the track and must swipe the account card to be eligible for the bonus. Also in the fine print is on non-carryover days. The account card and bonus serves two purposes...keeps the betting money at the track and also assures the winning pick 6 winner will pay the taxes on his winnings knocking out the illegal 10 per-center's on track. Hi Karen,
You can call the track that is missing, ask for the pari-mutuel dept....they will let you know the breakdown on takeouts for each type of wager. If they don't have the info, they will tell you who to contact to find out. TJ

No can't do that its a small track.... But the state is taking the money instead of giving it to the people that need it.

Hi Karen,
This sounds pretty strange...the takeout has to be posted somewhere if it is a legitimate sanctioned race meet? If you post the name of the track, I'll see if I can find out what the takeout percentage is. TJ

rotfl welcome to the last 2 years horse player debates

that's the entire point of the socal boycott and the sole reason you now have the race 1-5 pick five in all southern california tracks.

23.68% takeout + shitty fields = no possible way to turn a profit and bettors are going elsewhere.

though i will tip the hat this is a very very good marketing angle. I don't even play horizontal races and i'd do this if i were there
