Interesting to note the similarities in both California Chrome and Commanding Curve's pedigrees. Both are AP Indy sire lines. Both are out of broodmares who are sired by Maryland stallions that stand at Northview Stallion Station, Not For Love and Lion Hearted. And both broodmare sires are Phipps-bred.
Commanding Curve's dam, Mother, was highly regarded and sold for $150,000 at the FT Mid-Atlantic May 2-year-olds in training in 2004. She broke her maiden for Baffert and Tom Van Meter by 8 lengths, then ran 4th in the Santa Ynez to Sharp Lisa.
Of course, California Chrome and Commanding Curve are nothing alike. I just thought that was interesting how similar their pedigrees are.
