Opinions on this mare and stallion

Postby ALW » Tue Jan 17, 2006 7:44 pm

Hi,

I am new to these boards. This looks like a great place. I'm hoping you all can give me some opinions and advice.

I bought a tb mare who is in foal. I bought this mare to use to breed for a sporthorse. This mare is in foal to a tb stallion. This mare's name is Mckenzies Diamond and the stallion's name is San Mont Andreas. What are your opinions on this cross?

I have a few people interested on purchasing this foal. What kind of price range am I looking at?

I'll be totally honest I know nothing about tb or tb pedigrees so any help, opinions, or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I could not find your mare in the db, but the sire stands in OH for 1K. I do not see any progeny listed. I would probably call the farm where he stands and see if they can help you set a fair price. Cedar Brook Farm 937) 544-1463. San Mont Andreas has 16 mares bred last year. That may not sound like much but is near the top for OH Sires. Depending on your mare there may be some local interest in your foal. make sure your register your foal with your state TB org if you have one. This sometimes will help you get a little more for your foal than you might otherwise.
