Star Standard

The only G1 winner in the database by Risen Star. I was curious if he had any offspring and what happened to him. See I figure Risen Star's not given enough credit. If a son of Storm Cat ran like he did, they'd be all about him as a racehorse.

Star Standard broke down. Recovered from the injury and went back into training but broke down a 2nd time and was put down.
I got to see him while he was recuperating the first time (summer of '98 IIRC). He was stabled at the stallion barn at Jonabell...I've a few pictures of him in one of my albums.

:( Sad. I wish they'd just stopped sooner. It'd be great to have a picture linked to his info here if you ever have a chance. Very kind of you to share your insight on the ol'boy.

And welcome to the forum by the way. It's on a sad note but I noticed it's your first post. Hope you're enjoying it so far.

I use to get on Star Standard. He was a lovely boy to be around. It was a shame when he got hurt again.

Shame they tried to bring him back, he already showed he had a bit of class, he could have made an effort at stud for a lower fee and maybe worked his way up. Instead they ended up with a corpse.
