reenci,
I looked at progeny for Cormorant and I do not see that a Cohoes mare was ever even bred to Cormorant. There was a Quadrangle filly, but she didnt do much in the way of earnings.
I am not that familiar with Cohoes progeny so maybe there is a son of his on the list I didnt recognize. With such a high rating there should be many horses found easily. If there is a unicorn near you these Cormorant/Cohoes Stakes Winners may be grazing nearby.
I am not saying I think GFG is not a good mate for your mare I just wouldn't base my decision on the rating.

nor will i ..............was just wondering what the fig's meant but i think you have to look deeper...its a "cormorant sire line" crossed with a "cohoes sire line".....go to http://www.bonitafarm.com/stallions.cfm? and see for yourself. i never bred my mare yet going by nick's and im not about to start now.

http://www.werkhorse.com/ is the website you can go to understand more about the ratings.
you also note that nick was based on Cormorant/Cohoes. Since your mare is by Cojak there can be a big difference in ratings even in one generation.
I like GFG and may use him someday myself.
Good Luck

Go For Gin has been a good sire of ham-and-eggs runners. With your mare, the Giboulee on the dam's side interests me far more than Cojack. Giboulee is a genetic (not familial) 3/4 sibling of Vice Regent. Go For Gin has done well with mares carrying Vice Regent, so that could be an interesting cross.
