Flying True, by Is It True, want race records/past info.
I'm trying to find any information on my OTTT, Flying True. He is by Is It True and out of Flying Lassie. I'm trying to find any information on his past races and perhaps what farm he was from. This is the info. I have so far that I suppose would be of any importance:
1996 Flying True,Dkbbr,c,Is It True 3 28 4 3 9
30,116
( 82) 0.48
North America Dirt Sprints 28 4 3 9

North America Muddy/Sloppy 3 0 1 0
2,540
( 79)
DP = 9-4-1-0-0 DI = 27.00 CD = 1.57 AWD =
5.63
Sold at Hip # Sales Price Sire Avg Rank Stud
Fee
FTKJUL 1997 155 $21,000 $42,750 ylg ( 6/14)
$3,500
I got a lot of this interpreted my another person... but I'd still like more. Especially with the stuff regarding his potential as a stud... I wasn't able to traslate that. Perhaps someone can help me. Tru is a 1996, dark bay, 16.2hh registered TB. He's definitely been off the track for a couple years now... I'm not sure how long exactly.

What's to know? He raced for 3 years, made 28 starts, earned $30,116 with four wins (16 times on the board) in sprints, with a max speed rating of 82. He must have been running in beer money races. He sold for $21K as a yearling at Fasig Tipton against an average for that sire that year of $42K.
As a stallion prospect for racehorses, it looks pretty grim.

Hi Katie,
I checked into your horse, and most importantly is that Jim Plemmons is a good judge of horse flesh, so I wouldn't dismiss any stallion he bred from being a useful sire for non-commercial purposes.
It is true that your horse was racing near the bottom of the barrel when he was at Beulah Park but he had a good turn of early speed and was able to win in a romp in a Special Weights maiden race as a three-year-old.
Perhaps you might send a letter to his long-time trainer Jake Radosevich and see what he thinks about the idea.
One wonders why someone would have suggested that he had a "max speed rating of 82" when it is completely erroneous and an obvious misunderstanding of the data before you.
Anyway, Flying True last raced on June 16, 2001 at Thistledown, Ohio.
His wins were as follows:
Dec. 8, 2000 at Beulah Park, Ohio
Oct. 15, 2000 at Beulah Park, Ohio
June 6, 1999 at Mountaineer Park, WV
hope this helps you.

Flying True, by Is It True
I worked for Jim Plemmons, was his asst farm manager back in the waybacks before he moved with his entire operation to Kentucky. He was a real student of Thoroughbred bloodlines, and had a burning desire to win the Kentucky Derby. He managed to get it done, with Lil' E.T. I'd say he was entirely capable of picking an outstandig horse, whether for breeding or racing purposes.
If your horse came from his breeding program, he was undoubtedly capable, at the very least!

Ummm. Lil E Tee? Won the 131st KY Derby? He was bred by Larry I Littman (who names his horses starting with his initials), trained by Lynn S. Whiting, and owned, at the time he won the Derby, by Cal Partee. Where is Jim Plemmons? I don't recall mention of him at all in the book about Lil E. Tee.
