Not gonna happen. Voter are now kinda people. Whom ever wins BC Classic is Horae Of the Year. We tend to have a sort memory. Lava MAn if he wins the Classic has a shot at horse of the year...otherwise...
Put down the crack pipe Tucumari you are embarrasing yourself. "if Lava Man wins the Classic he has a shot at HOY" yea what the fawk ever.

Right now as we speak Lava Man is HOY. If Bernardini or Invasor win the Classic then it will be up for debate who wins HOY. If Flower Alley wins the Classic then Lava Man wins HOY. You heard it here first.

Dumpling I wouldn't know what a crack pipe was if it fell in my lap... speaking of crack, how's Louisiana?

Flower Alley... this is clearly the end of my part of this conversation as I think you have gone silly.

You dont think Flower Alley can win the Classic? He did run 2nd last year but you probably dont know that. Your horse knowledge is lacking big time..

Ahem... you're right, whaat happened ten months ago IS relevent...
So as I am clearly the simpleton in this conversation, maybe you could tell me... just where did Flower Alley wind up today...? A winner, I'm sure...(tongue in cheek). Looked good running up the track! I'll keep my money where he's concerened when the Classic rolls around... cheers!

Competition faced?

Lava Man beat the Calder stalwart Who's Crying Now in the Sunshine Millions, the hopeless longshot Magnum in the Big Cap, ex-claimer and decided non-stakes horse Cheroot in the Khaled, the cut-below turf horse Red Fort in the Whittingham, NorCal also-ran Ace Blue in the Gold Cup, and Good "I Freakin' Hate the Dirt" Reward in the Pac Classic.

He has faced pasties all year and if he gets his head handed to him in the BC, he's toast. Maybe Skip Away got away with it in '98, but he did a whole lot more than LM during the year (and got a lot more national press).

When a Tb wins off on his own like Lava Man, they dont stop too see who they beat, they just do their thing and before the others can catch their breath.

In the BC classic, we will find out who has the second and third wind to put the other away.

I never get mad.
And believe me, I've forgotten more about racing than you hope to ever know... Further... why be childish and start insulting people. That's sooo juvenile and really quite ridiculous.
and yes bring on the Classic, so the older horses can get trounced by a couple of very special looking three year olds.
I'm done.

Hey the older horses might get trounced by the 3 yr olds i dont care-Lava Man should be HOY unless he runs up the track in the Classic.

It sure looks like the handicap males are a weak lot on the west coast at the moment dominated by a former claimer and the eastern runners seem to come up with a new winner every weekend in the older ranks..............cue the 3yr olds. I have to admit that so far these younger colts are improving enough to be serious contenders come B.C. time. I am almost excited so please would the rest of you give up the verbal slings and arrows and lets watch for the cream to rise to the top then enjoy the show.

Hey now, don't be slammin' claimers. The fact is he's NOT beating "claimers" anymore, and in fact has beat everything brave enough to face thim this year. Whether he can take his A game on the road and still win is yet to be determined, but people really need to get over themselves and get off this "Former Claimer" crap especially since there are so many claiming races run each day.

I'll take a "former claimer" like Lava Man any day.
