ANYWAY...
Those two are racing tonight at Hoosier Park. It has been one hassle after another with both of these horses. Native Cowboy is in the first race of the evening. This will be his first start after about a month trying to get a gate card (during which time he should've had his card several times and should've already run twice by now!
The other one has been another "one issue after another" horse, again most of which has been entirely not his fault! After a trainer change and some problem-fixing he's finally running now. This will actually be his 3rd start. He wants distance and appears to be a closer, but as usual they are not writing the races that our horses need, so he'll be running short and probably won't do much. He's in the 11th race tonight, Dark Nemesis. This is the first foal out of White Cerf, who I know a couple of you saw in person and admired... what an amazing mare, and talk about a closing kick... I guess that's where DN gets it from, although he hasn't honed his to her spectacular level of ability yet.
And, in the spirit of not writing races for our horses, we are running War Proposal where we don't want her tomorrow. She's in the 8th at Hoosier. She's been running in Allowance NW3 this meet, short... they won't write it longer (which she would prefer.) She's been doing well enough, but not great, and we've been wanting to drop her A LITTLE BIT. The only $10,000 claimer they had she wasn't eligible for due to wins, and there's just nothing between the NW3 Allowance and rock bottom out here unless you want to go in open company. So, since the NW3 hasn't worked for us and we're out of time in this meet, we're going rock bottom. It's a mile, which should work well for her distance-wise, but she's been going 6 furlongs for so long, I hope she remembers how to go that extra distance! We're really doing this to go for a win, but the way our meet has been going, she'll come in worse here than she has in the Allowance races!
Anyway, hopefully between the three of them they can pool together and at least cover their training bills this month!
