Breeder's Cup Nomination Certificates

Postby clh » Sat Feb 03, 2007 9:43 pm

Okay folks - I sold the foals and then I received the Breeder's Cup nomination certificates that are supposed to be attached to the Jockey Club papers - how do I get them to the new owners? The sales company will tell you the name of who bought the foals but not their address, etc.... Should I send them to the sales company, the consignor, or who? I'm thinking the new owners would like to have the certificates since the foals were nominated....HELP.

I would send it to the sales company with a letter explaining the situation.

Just give the sales company a call. I'm going into a tricky situation with a mare I bought at Keeneland and it is the sales agency (Paramount) that will probably head up the solution.

i think i would send them photocopies instead of the originals, so they can foreward your contact info on to the new owners. then the originals wont become MIA

Good suggestion! Would hate to go through the hassle of getting new ones if they got lost :(

all you have to do is call the jockey club sometimes they have phone numbers they can call and they will get ahold of you

What sales company isn't giving you the address? I haven't sold a lot of horses, but the few that I have through F-T, they have always supplied me with the names and addresses of the buyers so that I may forward any information on to them that I deem necessary. Call the sales company again and tell them you have the Breeders Cup certificates for the foals you sold, I'd be shocked if they didn't cooperate in helping you get them to their rightful owner.

I will try again but in the past Keeneland was not upfront with providing addresses to me - they would give me the name of the buyer but no other personal information like phone numbers or addresses.
