Family of Gr.1 and 5 x Stakes Winner Peterman by Le Filou incl. Gr.1 Great Northern Derby 12F & Gr.2 Wellington Derby S.12F. Also Dual Stakes winner The Pilfer by Le Filou incl. Hawkes Bay Cup 2200M. Also The Monk by Red Gauntlet QTC Queensland Cup 2M. When I bought La Tosca and her foal in 2002 I didn't realise an amazing connection with Jack Clayton who trained by brother Jullian's horse Prince Fleet. The Monk and La Tosca descend from the same ancestor Lady Mc Beth which is amazing considering that the Monk raced in 1971. LA TOSCA is dam of Deep Defence by Defensive Play, Miss Diva by Royal Academy and Miss La Peni by Orpen.
Bought from Hunter Valley in 2002 with filly foal at foot by Orpen. Filly later named Miss La Peni. From good New Zealand family and sire Norman Pentaquad was sire of Melbourne Cup winner Doriemus. Orpen filly was her last foal. She used to kick out in the float and badly injured her back hock when transported from Hunter Valley to Brookfield Brisbane. Decided not to put her in foal again.
