Okay guys. I am home now and yes fortunately we have health insurance (we'll find out how good when the bills start coming in) and my sister, niece and daughter in law have volunteered to come and babysit me since my husband refuses to leave me alone. To quote him "you will be running the vacuum cleaner from the damn wheelchair left on your own" and "you will be taking the wheelchair to the barn" - which I will be doing that tommorrow since it is all concrete to the barn so that won't be a problem!
How did I come to this state of dispair? I was taking Honor to the breeding shed and there was a rut in the gravel driveway which my left foot stumbled on. I moved my right foot to help my balance and since I had the shank and pulled on it a tad Honor backed up since she couldn't go forward, meaning she stepped on my right foot. That caused me to completely lose my balance and I fell on my left hip. I was using a walker thinking I had just sprained my leg/groin and then Monday I slipped on the steps going out to the garage with my walker. Voila - immediate increase in pain!! I even said take me to the freaking ER NOW!!! I almost died when they had to bend my leg to get into the car but I AM WOMAN AND THEY DID HEAR ME ROAR - they got me in

Got there and it was broke. Next day I had to have surgery. Pain meds are great though - Oxycotin and Percocet. I'll never be able to wear my Daisy Dukes again however as the scar on my hip will just totally ruin the effect (HA). I think there are 20 staples in there - quite lovely.
If my helpers don't drive me nuts I may survive this - too much family can be a bad thing!!
Said I'd be good as new - and I have not had a cigarrette since Monday afternoon (I AM GOING CRAZY) but I have herbal ones (no not the good kind) but the ones that are tobacco and nicotine free. We'll see how it works. I'll give it a shot. Not a good time to try I guess but since I couldn't smoke in the hospital what the heck
So guys, now you know my woes
Madelyn, you'll just have to pull your pant leg up - I'll have to pull my pants down so we'll have to be careful where/when we compare scars (HA)
Swimming is great for rehab I'll mention it to my ortho doc!
