Dilutes and racing

Can anyone tell me if there are any dilute thoroughbreds that have raced and if any have won?

If you are talking palominos, etc, there may have been a few runners, not sure if any won. No cremellos, I've never heard of any in training. Jorge would know.
No roans, the breed doesn't have the roan gene. Some people call a chestnut with the grey gene a roan, but a roan doesn't get lighter with age, which a grey does.

I don't recall the name of any winning Thoroughbred

Since double-diluted cases come from single diluted influences you just have to examine every immediate parent cited on these threads. Enjoy and Good luck!

I pretty sure Stage Door Johnny was just a chestnut.

The photo of him on this webpage certainly shows a very typical chestnut.

There ARE true roan TBs in Australia and they also race.

Kind of depends on your definition of roan.

Catch a Bird certainly sired some horses that look like roans. He seems to have been a new mutation--no regular roans in his family. This may be the same roan mutation that other horses have, it it may be a new mutation.

They're still true roans, by definition, regardless of mutation.
