Arkidash? SP?

As a kid, my BO picked up a slim little bay OTTB from a camp and lo and behold this little guy was a superb show horse and jumper. His name was pronounced "Arkidash" but I really don't know how it was spelled. Could have beeh Archidash, Arcidash, R-kidash, but I wonder if anyone can come up with any lineage or race information or a spelling about him. Probably not - I am too clueless.

He might have been about 8 years old in the mid-seventies.

What is a BO?

I think you might be asking the impossible. What would help narrow down a search would be the year the horse was obtained, and its approximate age at that time.

I scanned the APR for horses' names starting with ARC, ARK, and ARQ for good measure....I didn't see any likely matches.

Closest thing I found was a '72 model named 'Arcash'. Nothing under 'R -', either.

Thanks, folks. Worth a shot. That's all I know. it was say 1974 or so, and the horse was an OTTB named Arkadash. who knows.

Don't give up yet. Depending on the speaker's accent, the horse's name could have started with Orca- or Orchi- (Orchid Ash?), or even Auk- or Awk- or Auqu-. 'G' is the voiced version of 'K' and the two can be easily mistaken in speech. Maybe 'Argo-'? Or it might have been a multiple word name starting with 'Our'. So many possibilities.
