Several years ago, I went to Gainsborough when Elusive Quality and Quiet American were still there. There were numerous empty barns and I asked innocently "What do they plan to do with all this?" The answer: "They want to fill them with stallions."
I think the breeding community was just put on alert that there is a new sheriff in town.

Like I said in my earlier post, they are solidifying their breeding base here. Perhaps they are thinking long term...breed them here, race them here. Maybe they are changing their tack on how to win the Derby....Darley dominated the Euro classics and they are looking to dominate the classics here. Just my two cents.

wouldn't that go against his whole thing about Dubai being the equine center of the world? Doesn't he ship ALL his horses back to Dubai for the winter to train?
What I don't get.. what i REALLy don't get.. is if he really wanted to win the derby, all he has to do is move the Dubai world cup day or the UAE derby either UP a month, or back behind the triple crown. it's horrible timing.. the end of march, barely enough time to recoup after the trip.

There's only one American that can possibly keep up with the Arabs:
