Does anyone know anything about Nudge?
He's a son of Pleasant Tap who will be standing in Pa. this year. He may have stood previously in New England.
Thanks.

Nudge, a winning son of Pleasant Tap, will stand at Upland Spring Farm near Unionville, Pa. Owned by Broadwall Farm, he will stand for $2,000.
A $315,000 Keeneland September yearling, Nudge won at Belmont Park and Aqueduct as a 3-year-old. He retired with eight wins or placings and earnings of $87,384.
Twelve-year-old Nudge is out of the stakes-winning Mr. Leader mare Melo Melody, who is a half-sister to stakes winners Aironlass, Classic Go Go, and Premium Win. The last-named produced grade I winners Tight Spot (a champion) and Valiant Nature. One of Premium Win's descendants is 2006 grade I winner Premium Tap (by Pleasant Tap).

I took a look at Nudge's pedigree for a mare the other day. Very very nice. I like this horse. He is a breed for the track, regional sire. Probably, his progeny would sell okay at PA sales. This horse should not be overlooked by breeders who are hoping for a runner of their own. But, I think the fee should be by private treaty for mares with a proven track or produce record. Nudge will be competing with some seriously marketable studs as more come into the state due to the recent slots openings. So, if the mares have the right pedigrees and if you know you won't have to sell it, this would be a good one to check out.
I would completely discount previous progeny for this sire as he has had very limited opportunity and I think only a couple foals on the ground. Just enough to know he is fertile.
If he were mine, I would bring mares to him that had one or more lines of Mr. Prospector, Hail To Reason, Djebel, Never Bend, or Secretariat. A good healthy dose of Bull Dog linebreeding might also serve a mare well that went to this stallion. I would be looking to bring in some In Reality.
But, this horse needs some babies to be bred by owner/trainers who won't run out of money before they get them to the track.

Nudge?
I just discovered that my horse, Nudge, is a current topic here. I would be happy to answer any questions. He was a $315,000 yearling at Keeneland in 1996, back when that was a decent price. He won his MSW and NW1X in NY. I bought him in 1999, knowing he had a suspensory, rehabbed him 3 times before I finally got my win photo - silly me! I can tell you that he is totally correct and a beautifully made horse - when I got him, my Irish farm vet said he had never seen better conformation. I have bred only my "nothing" mares, and the babies are really nice. I have a couple of 3 yr olds that should get to the races in the next couple of months. Heather Hunter, who is standing him in PA, can tell you how good the 2006 foals look - that's why she decided to stand him. His family is impressive: stakes winning dam by Mr. Leader; 2nd dam is Classic Perfection, with Premium Win and Premium Tap under her. Sure I'm biased, but I truly believe he was meant to be a good horse, and I'm impressed with the kids, so I'm putting him out there. I would be happy to email anyone interested his brochure.
