Tiger Ridge...sire of sires?

Postby Gerry » Wed Mar 07, 2007 1:44 pm

We are getting a son of Tiger Ridge to stand at stud and I am wondering if he has any other sons out there and if so how are they doing? I know he is in SAF now and I am having problems finding much other info.

Thanks
Gerry

I think we need a thread called, "Tiger Ridge, sire?" first.

cough...

Gerry, I doubt there are many, if any TR sons at stud. His oldest crop just turned 5 so even if there is one it doesn't have foals on the track.

Personally... I hope this is something you're standing for someone else and not something you spent your own money on.

I am not aware of any Tiger Ridges at stud. You might have the first Gerry.

From what I have found...TR doesnt seem to be a bad stud---he's not his brothers but he is siring good runners. I dont think the son is going to rock the world but hopefully will produce mid-level regional runners

Those are reasonable expectations given what he has already done.

I like that Therecomesatiger. He's a gelding though.

Gerry...it sounds to me like you have set the bar/expectations very low when you write "hopefully (he) will produce mid-level regional runners."

If you don't feel confident (much less passionate) about his chances for success (above and beyond siring mid-level regional runners) why go there? I strongly suggest that All Things Should Be Considered before you step into the pool, whether it's the deep end or not.

If it's a go though, I wish you MUCH good luck...and hope that the time, effort, resources etc etc that you are apparently willing to commit to your stallion project, bears fruit.

Respectfully

FOS---I understand what you are saying. We have complete confidence in Not A Corgi and Meadaaar to sire very good horses and this new stallion is going to be used as a teaser for them this year and be test bred. We will go from there for 2008. His owner will be racing the foals and we will go from there but since I do not know much about Tiger Ridge I was hoping to get more insight on this forum.

Thanks to everyone on your thoughts.
