Gosh!! Makes you want to buy a Louisiana-bred!!

They've been handing out wads of cash for $5K claimers.
So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can.....

Yes, I know Madelyn, since my horses have been there the purses have been raised at least three times. The first time Citi Smoke raced in an allowance in early December the purse was just over $40,000, which I thought was pretty good. Now he's racing in another one on the 23rd of this month, right at the end of the meet, and the purse is about $60,000! Imagine!

I'm very glad for Fair Grounds though, the efforts and money they put into renovations and purse money to resurrect the place after Katrina have really paid off, as the purse increases are all a result of bigger than expected handles.
