Here's a photo for your enjoyment, taken last year at this time at the KY Horse Park. Its a EVIL look from the old man.[img][/img]

Sorry, I don't enjoy photos like this. Kind of like seeing Ronald Reagan on the toilet.

Its all subjective, I guess. I saw nobility in the photo.

I think he looks pretty good, for a horse his age. I see that fire still burning in there.

You can tell there is still fire burning inside why else do they use a chain over his nose at the ripe old age of 30 something. I have an old mare that is 30 and you hardly even need a halter. LOL

At the KY horse park show in June 2005, they led him around the ring and I counted no fewer than 3 attempts to bite his handler....the chain is OK! He's happy being who he is and they indulge him.
Nice photo, IMO

I have to agree with Michael. It's like looking at a picture of Deborah Harry taken a few days ago.

Even in his prime, John Henry's faceshot wasn't model material, anyways...

It may not be the most beautiful, but it's got 'tude in spades.

Hi Folks,

My lasting memory of John Henry is in the 1984 Ballantine Scotch Classic, when he was 9, pinning his ears in the stretch and beating up the boys. It was lovely.

Regards,

Pete

My take on the photo is that he was woken up from his nap and really would like to go back to sleep . . JH thinking, "Let's get this over already so I can finish my siesta . . . . ."

I love what a "fuzzy bunny" he is in the winter . . . .

A picture of an old horse in happy retirement, that's what it is. I like seeing that more than much younger horses not taken care of properly!
