My mare is located in BC & I'm debating what to breed her to this year. Her info:
Princely Girl (Princely Native x Matinee Girl)
She's had 5 foals, 3 to race, 3 winners, 1 SW. The latter was a SW at 2, but also died at 2 & only had 6 starts (3 wins). That filly was sired by Wild Gold & I thought of breeding her back to him but I don't want to ship her out of the northwest.
She's currently due to foal a Light Of Mine within the next couple of weeks. That foal is one I'm keeping & hoping to race, but the next one I'd like the option to put in a sale. I looked at going to Wild Again through Bright Valour & I really like his pedigree, but I'm not sure the sale value is there (only time will tell as his babies start running).
I was tempted to breed her to Runaway Groom (she comes up with an A++ Nick if you put any worth in that, but the Princely Native/Runaway Groom cross has done well), but the $$$ & the distance were obstacles & now he's been pensioned. I saw he has a son standing at Canmor, The Lady's Groom, & I've thought of going that way. However I saw he only had 8 mares bred to him last year. I'm wondering what is keeping the mares away?
I like Amaruk, but I've never seen him in person & don't know a lot about thim, although he does seem to be producing from a limited number of foals.
There are others, but my laptop battery is dying so I have to post this asap. I'm open to other suggestions & shipping her to WA for breeding. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Roll the dice in BC! The stallions that may appear to be the "ones" to breed to now ,might not be the IN horses in 2 years.IMO your best bet is to go to the older dudes (Regal Intention/Vying Victor) they seem to sell pretty good but you have to set reasonable goals as to what you are going to expect from the sale price. If your looking for some possible sales gusto you might want to try Canmors newbie ex-Kentucky castoff Mazel Trick.......i would be VERY cautious as to what kind of mare to send to him.Acceptable is also new and while he had some nice horse i dont know if i would pay 5G's to go to him or if you would even break even SF's and keeping the horse until Sept of there yearling year.

Interesting thoughts there Ryeno.
Did you goto Canmor's Stallion parade? I missed out on it (weather and flu ARGH!).
As far as Satllions, I just poked through a couple.
Kiridashi has a funky Dosage with your mare (DI 19.00 CD 1.6) for what its worth, but he is in Alberta.
A curiously underused stallion in Alberta is Important Notice, he has one multiple Stakes winner (Sixthirthyjoe) out of handful of sons and daughters.
Oh, wait this is about BC... DOH! (stupid A.D.D.)
Has any one had a look at Terrell?

Hey Imnumberjuan,
I didnt get a chance to go to the stallion parade but i was out there a few weeks prior ,while in the area and looked at all the stallions they have.
You had to rub it in on Important Notice didnt ya! LOL
I made 2 bids on that horse when he went through the sale. I was a kid with some cash in my pocket and had a good weekend gambling.....i bid up to 2K and Important Notice ended up going for $2500 and the rest is history as he made 6 trillion dollars and then is the sire of hard knocking Sixthirty Joe but not much else.
He doesnt hava a real fashionable pedigree and that probably has a lot to do with it......if i was in Alta i'd at least go take a gander at him and if he matches up with your mare and you planned on keeping it yourself to race why not?

Ryeno,
I know the feeling - the "Shoulda woulda couldas".
My personal worst was not paying attention with Reatta Pass a couple of years ago when she ran for $ 5 000... she made 20 K or so after that in the final month of the '05 meet at Hastings - what makes it a little easier is there was a 4 or 5 way shake ...
Not sure what kinda shape she was in, and last year it looked like she was in over her head.
Do you remember a filly called Miss Notable Claim? She had a foal in AB according to [/i]the Alberta Thoroghbred by Cobra King.
I just remember her smoking a field as a 16 - 1 shot at Hastings before my then unaccquainted friends claimed her and brought her to AB.
Oh - Vaudevylle ever think of Caill Road? I like the cross (ok, I am relatively new, so my opinion may not count for much - but I like him).
