Help, Need advice!

Postby Stormchaser » Mon Apr 30, 2007 5:39 pm

I have a maiden mare that was due April 16th, she has not even started to bag yet! Any advice or any others waiting for foals like this? All my mares but 1 were late by at least a week but we are now 2 weeks over. Should I be worried?? Thanks

Welcome to the club. My Oklahoma mare went fifteen days late. The New York mare and the Kentucky mare were on time. Many mares this year all over the country are foaling late, according to the farm owners at each farm. It doesn't seem to harm the babies. Just frays the nerves of owners, farm managers, and mares. Maybe it's something due to the wide variability in temperatures this winter. Who knows?!

So we are still waiting on this mare. I am getting very frustrated :? she seems fine, goes out on grass every day and is not stressing at all. Wish I could say the same for myself.
