I try to stay out of these things, but I would like to save you some $$$. Unless you have some personal reason for wanting this horse, there are hundreds of others with better produce records, pedigrees, etc. available and sometimes for free. Many on here can attest that I have taken rescue horses, free horses, cheap horses, etc. if they worked for my program and I can help the animal while it helps me. I also pass on many "freebies" because there is no point in breeding just to breed. As far as the age is concerned, I have had 3 foals this year alone out of mares that are 25+. One is already back in foal and the other two are going to be retired. I have a 27 year old in foal due May 25th. Anyone who thinks that they are through at 20 should come visit my farm. But this mare's problems are that she has absolutely no page and no worthwhile bloodlines. For that kind of money, you could get a stakes producer with some market value for the ensuing foal. In a nice way...the mare and her foal and the foal she's carrying are not worth the amounts you mentioned. Look what $7500 could have gotten you at the April OBS Sale. The saying that it costs just as much to keep a cheap horse as it does to keep a good one is not true. IT COSTS MORE because they have more problems and no intrinsic value.
Good Luck,
Brian

i think that is the best reply... and I don't think one person intentionally meant to offend the original poster. I replied to her in private and told her to run away ... this is no deal at all.

We all agree.. and you asked our opinion. I'm not sure what else we can possibly say.
