our new filly

Postby tammysinnett » Sun May 06, 2007 2:57 pm

sorry no new photo, wish I did..so this small story will have to do.....my husband was fixing fence and set down to rest and drink some tea in a lawn chair. We were all gathered around the fence in a powwow.....our shy new filly of four days came up to my husband smelled him all over started licking him then proceeded to try and climb in his lap like a puppy or cat would--she would not take no for an answer and everyone was in stitches..... then the dam picked up a rubber tub full of spring water and dumped it right down the front of me....they said the look on my face was unforgettable.....the whole crew couldnt stop laughing.....guess she thought we were laughing at her new baby.....I have a feeling this new filly will be an unforgettable one

Tammy that is a great story. Our new colt had to go to the vet clinic with his dam yesterday..she needed major stitches (he is a BIG colt)..well everyone in the office had to come out and see the baby since they usually only see small animals onsite. The office manager had her son with her (he is about 4 or 5) when the foal went to lay down, the little boy was concerned about him laying on the gravel and put his hand under the foals head...the foal used it like a pillow and fell right asleep...priceless :D
