Royal Academy by Nijinsky has been a qualilty stallion through the years. What is suprising is RA background of obscure sire lines of the past.

RA has the following sire lines within his 5 generation pedigree. RA is double up to Menow, and has a balance of NP sire lines.

RA has 4 crosses of Phalaris thru Pharos----Pharamond (twice)----and Polynesian.

3 crosses of Peter Pan thru Blue Larkspur----Black Toney----and Peter Hastings.

3 crosses of Teddy thru Bull Dog----Omaha----and Sir Gallahad III.

1 cross of Gainsborough thru Hyperion.

1 cross of Swynford thru Mahmoud.

1 cross of Rock Sand thru Pilate.

1 cross of Wise Counsellor thru the same.

1 cross of Hermit thru Papanatas.

1 cross of Re-Echo thru the same.

The sire lines of Wise Counsellor, Hermit and Re-Echo are extinct, and thats what is suprising to find these sire lines in RA background for the quality stallion that RA is.

The German 2,000 Guineas was run at Cologne on Sunday, too. The winner Aviso (by Tertullian out of Akasma by Windwurf) shares Mr. Prospector (via Miswaki) with the recent English Guineas-winners.

Remarkable is Aviso's "thorough-German" dam-line: all BMS to be seen there prefered 1 1/2 miles as their best racing-distance. They didn't hinder Aviso to win the race with good finishing speed inspite of his still "green" running.

Aviso's is another example of the stallions influence in passing on his speed in matings of speed and stamina. The majority of a stallions progeny will inherit the speed of the stallion over the dams stamina.

I guess time will tell. I think Dutch Art will get a measure of revenge in the St James Palace.

Speaking of 2000 guineas winners. George is still nominated for the Lockinge, looks like shaping into a cracker!

I have a mare who is very closely related to Cockney Rebel. Her name is Petite Love x Fred Astaire. Check her out!!!
