It's a girl!!!

Postby Denise » Fri May 11, 2007 6:14 am

Only 2 weeks and 4 days overdue with this one, our mare foaled a BIG
Unbridled Jet filly (weighed in a 124 pounds!) last night at 8:10pm!
A full sibling to My Son Spider and Sack of Rubies, and a half to Brother Sy and "Syzzy"! Mom and baby are doing well. We'll see them tomorrow.
Whew.

The message from the foaling meister was hilarious: he must have said BIG at least 6 times! Apparently, lots of leg, hip and keister! I'll get pix tomorrow, but so far, she's a really PLAIN dark bay. Not a drop of anything on her anywhere! I'll look for the telltale grey muzzle and eyes as she gets older.

Glad the dam had no problem birthing such a giant filly! Congratulations!

Congratulations Denise! Sounds like a nice girl. And plain dark bays are very nice. There's a nasty rumor going around here that someone else has hoarded all the chrome this year  Post pictures when you can - we'll be anxious to see her!

My prettiest mare is a plain dark bay. Everyone who comes to our farm comments on her when they don't comment on any of the others! There's no shame in that game!! Congrats again.

We have ourselves a leggy grey! Telltale white hair around the muzzle, eyes and feet. Here are a couple of pix from the weekend.

Momma and baby are beautiful! Congrats. Don't you just love greys (except in OUR hair of course :)
