The whole team is hoping for just a plain good run from Mellanie.
There is no need to win, just showing whether the potential is still intact
or left at last years derby.
So a lot of ???????
She will be ridden by an apprentice with an weight dedunction of 6pds
Even her old trainer, whom I like very much, was very interested whether
she will run or not since he is having two competitors in this race.

Mellanie ran a good race, 3rd after an easy race for her.
She ran for the time with australian blinkers.
Got out from the gates first (very surprisingly) took the first bench four
wide , a little bit overdone.
Came in first the opposite lane, leading through
the second turn, but lost position because of the second turn four wide
after two furlongs in the strech she lost position, just a lack of gas.
Today she was fit and well, and her tendon,s were cold.
Training will be starting wednesday again, and will be a little bit stiffer than up to now
Her younger half brother took surprisingly our guiness, so it makes 2 black types with two on the track from her dam. Not so bad at all.
Next outing will be in a fortnight.

Congrats. Whats the difference between the australian blinkers and what you normally use?

These blinkers are real large, normally we use smaller ones about 2 inches less thick.
Next time she will run without any blinkers, from off the pace she is much better. She needed this race to improve in condition

Mellanie is in next sunday.

9 furlongs turf Only six in , for Mares and fillies only.

Her little (16.3) 2 yr old half sister (special surprise) sire royal dragon,
is making her first official appearance on the track with gate start and everything to get an race licence
Her full brother did win our guiness.
So I am gooiing early to watch her carefully. I always said, that she will be the best of the three.
Theirs dam sadly died after an attack of colic at the stallion stud, while nursing special surprise.

She came in second, within 2 lenghts.
Ground was slippery, it rained last night.
Earlier in the week she was dehydrated, so I was not expecting this result
at all.
She was eating immidiately after arriving home, feet etc very well.
Next probable start 6,5 furlongs in a fortnight.
