stallion Limit out
I was tinkering with my stallion evaluation system the other day and a curious stallion was highlighted that I hadn't previously noticed before. Has any one on this board heard of or bred to Limit Out. I am getting some very good, if not excellent numbers on him. Does anyone know the Cl of the mares he has covered to date or the farm that breeds him? I am very interested to know more about him. He looks like he could be a real sleeper at a $2,500.00 stud fee. He stands in WV.
best regards Brendan

I recommend you call and set up an appointment to visit NayLee.
It's not facny and I had a friend that was not happy with the condition of his open mare when she got home in-foal to Civilisation: however, all my mares actually gained weight while they were there and they and their foals came home healthy.. I think the problem with my friend's mare is she was an omaga mare and was put in with other open mares that bullied her. in my openion Naylee's mare and foal care is good.
Rene Moore runs the stud and is a former trainer. She and her husband Dickie Moore are both very involved with the operation/management of the Charles Town track and their daughter Mary is a trainer at CT. They have pulled together a very impressive barn of stallions including:
Civilisation,, Limit Out, Prospect Bay, Gunnerside, Country Only and others.
Civilisation [Gone West X Toussaud] has, in my openion, as good a breeding pedigree as you will find anywhere. . His foals seem to be late bloomers and my two geldings are May 06 foals so I'll probably not start them until late next year.
Limit Out not only has an impressive 80% winners to starters, 16% black type and 10% BTW but has excellent conformation and maybe just as important presence. When he comes out of that barm you'll not be able to look at anything else while he's in the yard.
Prospect Bay is a new addition and was the leading stallion in VA before moving to WV.. he has an awsome rear end which lead us to finally select him for our Skip Away mare. Check the Mid Atlantic Thoroughbred and I think you'll find he has some good stats also. Also impotnat is I believe his 2007 fee is $1,500 which I think will increase next year..
They also have a very good looking unraced Seattle Slew son named Gunnerside [?].
While you are in the area you might want to also visit Taylor Mountain that has some nice stallions.. I especially like their Meadow lak son who I believe is now numer two in WV.. he was never out of the money when he raced and definitely has that Meadow lake look.
The Wv stallion incentive program has resulted in some good stallions being moved to WV and they are standing at afforabel prices. It will be interesting to see if the 63,000 slots installed in PA is going to provide a simalar boost to that states' stallion quality.

Griff, thanks for the info, sounds like I would ship in and out to breed---not a problem for me at all. The mare will be ready to cover when I bring her to the farm and she can leave with me after the breeding. I have had very good luck with this system.
Do you know what kind of back end he puts on his foals. I need to add some hip and power to the back end of my mare--she throws a great front end, correct with a good shoulder.
Did you breed any mares to Limit Out and if so what do your foals look like?
I can't find a picture of Limit Out anywhere.

My friend Mike Rufe lives just across the VA line frrom nayLee and has some Limit Out foals he'd be glad to show you.. The youngest yearling on hisplace is a very nice Limit Out filly that's now the tallest yearling of the lot.. She also has a good rear end.. I bought a line-bred Secretariat mare named Perfect Colours to breed to Limit Out and my partner talked me into taking her to Yankee gentleman in Kentucky.. She'll probably go to Limit Out along with my Crytoclearace mare next year..
Limit Out has a good rear end but if your mare really needs help in that department take a look at Prospect Bay who also stands at Naylee. Prospect Bay also has some good states in the M id Atmantic Thoroughbtred magizine and his fee this year is only $1,500.
PM me and I'll get you and Mike in touch,
Good luck with yourlate cover.

PS: What's your mare's name
